TROUBLESHOOTING · AUDITS · SYSTEMS · RESCUE

Something's not working. Good. Give it to us.

We're quite fond of jobs that begin with “Nobody can work out why...”

Broken website. Disappearing tracking. Product feed rejected. Ads spending but not selling. CRM misbehaving. Systems refusing to talk. Or just something that doesn't feel right. We'll start pulling the thread.

MAVERICK TROUBLESHOOTING

The problem isn't always where it appears to be.

Look wider

A marketing problem can actually be a website, feed, tracking or system problem.

Follow the evidence

Test assumptions instead of repeatedly changing the thing everybody already suspects.

Fix the cause

Patching the symptom is useful only until the same problem comes back next Tuesday.

SYMPTOM ≠ CAUSE

What you see might not be what broke.

This is where being able to look across marketing, websites and systems helps.

We aren't restricted to one tiny part of the customer journey.
01 THE SYMPTOM

“Google Ads stopped working.”

Perhaps. Or perhaps tracking broke, the landing page changed or checkout conversion collapsed.

02 THE SYMPTOM

“Our SEO disappeared.”

Maybe rankings fell. Maybe important pages were redirected, de-indexed or changed without anyone noticing.

03 THE SYMPTOM

“The website doesn't convert.”

It could be UX. It could also be irrelevant traffic, poor messaging or a follow-up problem after the form.

04 THE SYMPTOM

“Our CRM is rubbish.”

Possibly. Or perhaps the process was never mapped properly before the software was configured.

BEFORE WE CHANGE EVERYTHING

Diagnose. Then decide.

Rebuilding everything is wonderfully convenient for the person selling the rebuild. It isn't always wonderfully convenient for you. We'd rather understand what actually needs changing first.

01 Reproduce the problem properly OBSERVE
02 Check what changed before it started HISTORY
03 Separate symptoms from causes DIAGNOSE

THE MAVERICK RULE

Don't replace what can be repaired. Don't repair what needs replacing.

Fix it

If the foundations are sound and the repair makes commercial sense.

Improve it

If we're already opening the bonnet, sometimes a sensible upgrade is worth doing too.

Replace it

Only when continuing to patch the old thing becomes more expensive than moving forward.

DIFFERENT PROBLEM. DIFFERENT TOOLBOX.

We don't arrive with one answer.

The fix depends on what actually broke.

Which sounds obvious. Yet an impressive amount of digital work begins with somebody trying to sell their favourite solution.
01

Technical Fixes

Website errors, configuration issues, tracking faults, feed problems and technical blockers that need practical investigation.

Websites Tracking Feeds SEO
02

Marketing Fixes

Traffic that isn't converting, advertising that stopped performing or campaigns where the numbers no longer make sense.

03

System Fixes

Processes held together with spreadsheets, duplicated data, clumsy workflows and software that isn't talking properly.

CRM Automation Integrations Workflow
YES, WE CAN LOOK AT SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK

No wounded pride. Just get it working.

We don't need to have built the website, launched the campaign or configured the system to take a sensible look at what's happening. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is exactly what's needed.

01 Another agency built it FINE BY US
02 Your old developer disappeared WE'LL LOOK
03 Nobody documented anything NOT IDEAL
04 Three suppliers all blame each other FAMILIAR
05 You've inherited a digital mess BRING IT
06 You just want a second opinion ABSOLUTELY
HOW MAVERICK FIXES THINGS

Find it. Understand it. Sort it.

Less finger-pointing. More useful questions.

And preferably no dramatic rebuild until we've established whether one is actually necessary.
01

Listen

What should happen, what is happening and when did it change?

02

Reproduce

See the issue ourselves rather than diagnosing a rumour.

03

Investigate

Follow the data, configuration, journey and likely dependencies.

04

Fix

Make the smallest sensible intervention that solves the cause.

05

Test

Check the original issue and make sure we didn't create a new one.

06

Improve

If there is an obvious better way, we'll tell you about it.

WHEN SHOULD YOU CALL MAVERICK?

Earlier is nice. Later is still fine.

We'd rather see the strange thing before six different people have “had a go”.

But we've also seen enough digital archaeology to know that's not always how life works.
CALL US WHEN... Nobody can explain the numbers

Analytics and platforms disagree badly enough that decisions are becoming guesswork.

CALL US WHEN... “It used to work”

Something changed and nobody can quite identify what happened or why.

CALL US WHEN... Everyone blames someone else

Developer blames ads. Ads blame website. Website blames CRM. CRM looks innocent.

CALL US WHEN... You're tempted to start again

Before spending a fortune replacing everything, it may be worth finding out what actually needs replacing.

FIX QUESTIONS

Don't know what to ask? Tell us what happened.

You don't need a technical diagnosis before contacting us. Describing the symptom is enough to start.

Can you fix a website you didn't build?
Yes, in many cases. We can inspect the existing setup and work out whether the issue can be repaired sensibly. We won't automatically tell you the whole website needs rebuilding simply because another developer created it.
Can you troubleshoot WordPress and Divi websites?
Yes. We can investigate layout problems, forms, WooCommerce issues, plugins, performance, integrations and other common WordPress or Divi problems, depending on access and the specific issue.
Can you fix Google Ads tracking?
We can investigate conversion tracking across websites, Google Ads and analytics setups, identify where events or conversions are failing, and work toward restoring trustworthy measurement.
Can you troubleshoot Google Shopping feeds?
Yes. We can investigate product feeds, Merchant Centre issues, missing or rejected data, mapping problems and how the ecommerce platform is supplying information to the advertising system.
Can you help when several systems need connecting?
Yes. We can look at the platforms involved, what information needs to move between them, what existing integrations are available and whether an API, automation platform or bespoke connection is the most sensible route.
Can you audit something without taking over the account?
Absolutely. Sometimes you simply need an independent review or a second opinion. We can investigate the situation and explain what we find without requiring you to immediately move everything to Maverick.
What if you can't fix it?
We'll tell you. There is little value in pretending otherwise. If the issue requires a specialist outside our remit, a platform vendor or a complete replacement, we'd rather explain that clearly than keep billing you while hoping for a miracle.
Do you offer emergency troubleshooting?
Depending on availability and the nature of the issue, we may be able to help with urgent problems. The best starting point is to contact us with a clear description of what has happened, what has stopped working and how urgently it is affecting the business.
